Hi,

Have had a look around the forums but cant seem to find the info I am looking for.

Can somebody tell me what colour wire the Switched live and the Permanent live are in a 2008 2.0tdi Touran, fitted a towbar yesterday and now need to wire the bypass relay in the passenger side boot compartment where I have access to the wiring loom. I have a wiring diagram for the rest of the job, but no colour coding for any of the wires.

Thanks

Hi

I have the same problem. I was hoping to find the wiring loom for the factory fitted towbar option. But it looks like VW saved a few pence and haven't fitted the loom. :-( Not surprising I suppose. Does anyone know if there is a permanent live feed anywhere near the rear left hand side on the boot compartment on a 2009 Touran. I don't want to have to remove all the trim to run a wire to the battery, (too many plastic clips I am sure to break). I have thought about spurring of the 12V outlet feed to the right hand side on the boot.

Thanks.

Hi, Unfortunately the Touran doesn't have trailer preparation so there isn't a suitable live run up to the back, Here is the link to the genuine wiring kit instructions if it helps you.

Kind regards.

I've got a 2008 Touran with a tow bar. When it was fitted the fitters had to run a cable from the front of the car. Unfortunately I don't what feed they used as the cable runs down the nearside then disappears under the dash. The only reason I know they have done it is that the cable droops down from under the door trim and has been run under the sill trim. If I get a chance tomorrow I'll see where it goes to but I know that VW changed the live feeds on our face lift models hence the reason the power sockets in the front and rear are only on when the ignition is on. That is very frustrating for using DVD players and the like.
