BXE/BLS issues?

Can someone remind me what the issues are with the BXE 06 engine-I am sure I have been told to avoid BXE/BLS/

My 2009 BLS (A3) has been perfect for the last 33k for the year I've had it so far.

The only little niggle was a DPF pressure sensor but this was replaced under warranty.

In December 2011 it had 27k and now Feb 2013 it's on 60k.

I was looking at 06 plate which had BXe and then remembered there was a spate of these engines seized pistons,I believe.Worryingly I had been looking to change to a 1.9 highline 08/09 however these too appear to have BXE engines(the non DPF).I dont know whether these engines were cured or whether they may suffer same fate.
Having just driven the old 130Pd I really think I would miss the power going to a 1.9 (105)so may have to consider a 2.0 with DPF although I was trying to avoid these as I would usually buy with high miles and keep several years so will probably incur cost of new DPF!At least I would have a CR engine and shouldnt have injector issues etc-would you agree?
