2007 2.0 tdi mpg

Hi guys,

I am new to the A6 club as i purchased mine in early december. Lovely car but I have a question about average MPG.
Basically, mine is averaging around 38-40 on my run to work which is all a-roads. I know the quoted average is 45 but I have not had better than 41 in the couple of months i have had it.
I realise that the weather wont help etc but I am just wondering wether people think this is average or below what it should be doing?

Can't comment on MPG but remember the A6 is a heavy brute so expect it to be lower than the A4 etc counterpart.

When was it last serviced?

that's probably about right. best ive had is mid 50's but I was being careful normal driving in and around town late 30's early 40's is about right

Yep, that's about bang on what I get. 38-40mpg, I can get much better cruising at 60ish in lane 1 but who wants to do that?

On a decent motorway run to Glasgow & back from Lancashire, I got 44mpg doing average speed of 70-80 (working it out manually, not using the DIS figure), that was using VPower diesel. I'd say my average is somewhere between 38 & 45 generally.

Sounds about right then. It was serviced about 5000 miles ago so is not due for a while.
