Hi everyone

Always lurking never posting! I have a TT and now have a chance to buy my mums 2007 GT TSI with 55K on clock.

Problem is it has developed a hesitation / misfire under wot at about 3000revs, it lasts a nano second then continues to pull smoothly. It is very noticeable tho..

All VW serviced and well looked after.

There are all sorts of scary problems on the interweb about this engine...

I have ran a scan on handheld code reader i have and got nil codes stored. The reader works and was communicating, (have used it on the TT)

My thoughts are
1. Faulty Coil
2. Faulty Spark plug
3.Maybe MAF
4. Something horrible i dont understand...

Any suggestions before i start buying parts i dont need!! Really dont want to put it into the ********...

Thanks in advance

ted

The 140 tsi is twincharged so there may be a fault with the changeover from supercharger to turbo as that is about the right revs for that as the supercharger engages as per the engine ecu signal.

It may be a fault with the contact surfaces of the pulley that then runs the supercharger via a ribbed belt.

It may be worthwhile getting a VW dealer to look at it and see if there are any ecu software updates which might cure this and only they are authorised to carry out updates on VW's behalf.

It could be various other issues but at that rev range i would start there.

Thanks - not what I wanted to hear, I can just see them wanting a small fortune to rectify it!

I have a spare Coil pack so will swap these over first if no joy to the dealers it is then.

Thanks again
