Could you add a bit more info?
"stopped opening"? Does central locking activate on that door? Any response from outside handle? Does window still open and close?

Hi,
No response from he outside handle at all. And sadly, i have child locks on so am unable to determine if the inside handle works or not!!
How would i know if central locking activates on that door; just by listening? windows still open.
Also, my VCDS is not reporting any faults on that door.
Many thanks

also noticed tonight that there is little resistance from the pull action compared to the other handles, like somthing has disconnected internally, and the handle isnt actually connected to anything now!

The version of VCDS you are using is old; you should upgrade to the latest (free from Ross-Tech: Home (www.ross-tech.com)) version which is 11.11.5.
Once upgraded, connect to module '72-Door, Rear Right' go to '03-Output Tests' and select Central Locking Motors from the drop down box. When activated, you should hear a distinct 'chunk-chick-chacka' as the lock cycles through Locked (SAFE), Locked (un-SAFE) and Un-Locked. It should always leave it unlocked.
Report back how you get on and if still stuck, we'll move on to reading the microswitch status in MVBs.

Be interesting to see what you report back with VCDS.
Yes, just have a listen by the door to hear for the locking motor "clunk" when you activate it.
I am just trying to work out how you get the door open if it turns out to be some sort of mechanical failure.

Hi and Thanks Zenerdiode. I done what you suggest, and can confirm i heard the 'chunk-chick-chacka' sound from that door. my door remains unable to be opened though! :-(

ok i have managed to resolve my issues!
Basically, i read the manual and it says of the rear doors are unable to be opened externally AND Child locks are enabled then open the inside handle, and the opening the door from the outside. P47 of my manual. i was shocked, it bloody worked lol and my door seems to be functioning correctly again. need to remember that trick!

But surely you would have had that problem before??
so, if I read it right, you have to open the door by using both inside and outside handles when the child locks are on?

Hi again
I have just been reading my manual and have come to the conclusion that you must have the option set on your rear door that assumes a central locking failure and the mechanical locking device has been turned, thus needing to open the door by first pulling the inside handle, followed by the outside handle.
This option is separate from the child lock option. Have you check that out?
