Finally replacing my A3 that I have never really been happy with, and plumped for a 2.0TDI Sline A6 with tech pack in solid black. Hope I've done the right thing after reading some of the messages on here, but I've probably got until April to wait.

Can't really afford any further options, but is the interior light pack worth investing in, just teh £200 version - thoughts.

Cheers, and here's hoping I'll enjoy it when it comes.

Congratulations! I'm sure you will be really pleased with the car! I really enjoy the nice features the Tech Pack added to my car. The lighting package is a nice touch too.

I bet you can't wait until April! :)

Cheers!

Like MFGF says, congrats on the new purchase.

Heated front seats are a must on any car in my opinion as they don't come as standard with the S-Line and leather seats can be cold!!!! Also maybe DAB radio as BMW are fitting them as standard from this month...

There are lots and lots of shiny techy gadgets that frankly speaking are turning me into a dribbling mess jumping between WANT.... CANNOT AFFORD....

Congrats on the purchase. Re the Lighting Pack, I agonised over it thinking that the standard interior lighting would be limited. In fact that is not the case and with the standard system you get lighting in each footwell when the doors open, mirror lighting for each sun visor, red downlighting from the the overhead panel in the front and map lights front and rear. So the Lighting pack actually gives you the following, I have shown what is included as Standard, and I have not missed not having the Pack:

- Courtesy lighting on the underside of the door handles and LED door handle lighting for easy entry and exit in the dark
- Automatic activation when the doors are unlocked
- Active internal door reflectors

Interior:
- Entrance lighting (Standard)
- LED technology
- 2 reading lights at front and rear (Standard)
- Front footwell (Standard)
- Inside door handles (Standard)
- Make-up lights (Standard)
- Storage compartment in the centre console
- Ambient lighting of the centre console (Standard)
- Ambient reflected light for inside door trims

Many thanks for the information, think I may give the pack a miss then. Probably going to be the longest wait ever, fingers crossed it arrives sooner, after all its not a particularly difficult build.

Cheers

Just been looking through the book again, and note that the standard s-line comes with a 20mm lower suspension. There is a no cost option to lower this by a further 10mm. First of all, is that noticeable in the look of the car, secondly, what does it do the ride. I guess it handles a little better, but at the expense of ride quality maybe. So whats the verdict, to lower more or not??

Cheers

I ordered a 2.0 S Line Multi in October. The dealer will have it next week but I won't get it until 4 March. I went for metallic black, heated seats and elec folding door mirrors. I would not bother with the 30mm lowered suspension. I think the 20mm with the 18in wheels will give the best balance of ride and handling.

Are you getting a manual?

Hi, thanks for that, getting the 18" wheels as well, so think I will just look at the standard suspension. I am getting a manual as I still don't like the auto type boxes, for me, takes away some of the fun driving the thing, not that you can have much fun these days.

Hi,

The car sits very slightly lower with the 30mm drop S line suspension. I think the ride is fine in my car (and mine has 20" wheels too), but of course it's entirely subjective. If you can, try to get a back-to-back drive in a standard S line with 20mm drop Sports suspension vs one optioned with the 30mm drop S line suspension.

Cheers!

Another cheap option you may want to consider is the larger fuel tank - it's nice to be able to get a bit more fuel loaded up on longer drives...

I had heated seats in my last car but when I tried them in the Audi they took an age to get hot so didn't bother.

I am also happy with the standard lighting - don't feel like I am missing anything.

The seats in my C6 took a while to heat up, but the ones in my C7 seem a lot quicker. They seem to get much hotter too (comparing max for both cars).

Cheers!

I had a 3.0 diesel C7 as a courtesy car yesterday which had heated seats. I never thought I'd be that bothered about them but I was converted in the 30 seconds or so it took them to heat up! Of course, they'd probably be redundant for at least 10 months of the year, but even so, want, want, want....

For me the heated seats are a must have. Leather can be very cold on a winter morning. Considering it is a relatively cheap option it was a no brainier

Test drove one today, standard S-Line model and its all I thought it would be, so order confirmed, but with the addition of folding mirrors and yep, the heated seats. The test model has heated seats and they were great in this cold weather. The build date is currently scheduled for week 12, which I believe is mid March, meaning a delivery of somewhere around mid April. Got 86 days until my A3 is scheduled for a service, so that works out roughly right.

So A6 2.0TDi S-Line with Tech pack, folding mirrors and heated seats for me :)

Thanks for the advice, now to wait :(

Good choice, it was mentioned that 10 months of the year that the heated seat are useless. I sometimes wake up with a bad back when I have had a bad nights sleep, put the heated seats on and it sorts it out in about 10 minutes. Awesome to say the least, this is why I would always have them. It's also fun to turn it on, on the passenger seat when the wife is not looking (yes I am a child).

Mine is set for week 14 as it stands, A6 Avant BiTDI Black Edition with heated seats, advanced key, tech pack and mobile phone prep high. It can't come soon enough in my opinion!

Well a call from the dealer today and good news. The car is not scheduled for a week 12 build any longer, it is week 10, which is w/c 4th March. Audi have also told the dealers that week 10 build cars will be at the dealers for delivery in March, so with any luck I will have the car for the Easter holiday, fingers crossed.

Congrats on the order!!!! you will love it.

Ive got one on order for myself I cannot wait!!!! My build week is 16. but my deal advised me that they should be quicker and will check in a week or two for updates.

Heated seats is a must on leather seeats in my opinion. Ive got a 2.0 tdi auto Black Edition with All LED front Headlights, Electric folding mirrors, MMI Navigation plus with multi touch, Storage Pack, Interior Lighting Pack, Advanced Parking System (rear view camera).

As we ordered two audi's at the time, My bro in law didnt opt for the lowered suspension, so i will take pictures side by side of the two cars comparing the difference of s line suspension(20mm) and sports suspension (30mm)

Well, its been built, w/c 4th March as advised. Problem is, update from the dealer on Saturday, its still sat in Germany awaiting shipping to the UK. Was hoping for a pre-Easter collection, but not sure if I will now. Anyone have any idea how long it takes once it arrives in the UK?

Still waiting :)

I collected mine on 1st March. I believe they have a set number of days to get it from off the ship to the customer. Usually about a week, I think.

Do you know what week it was built? 1st March is week 9, so that may help me work it out, also when did you order, I ordered mid January.

Yeah, they originally said 5 weeks, and then called and said the car had unexpectedly come off the truck last week. Needless to say I'll be giving it a through check when I go to get it

Sounds odd that one. Built a week after mine, but managed to get to the UK, yet mine is still in Germany awaiting shipping, that really does take the mick :)

Hopefully I'll get an update this week, hopefully to find its at the dealer awaiting prep for a delivery next week, well I can hope if nothing else.

Cheers.

I was told end of April delivery to dealers so had early May expectation. Took a run by the dealers last week to enquire if I could get a more accurate date & was told it was on the ship. Email received on Monday telling me delivery this Friday.

lots of extras so will patiently check it all over on Friday but fingers crossed.

Not sure - to be honest that's what I was hoping to learn on my visit to the dealers. Was told instead it was en-route, then yesterday I had a registration plate & delivery date - I'm assuming therefore early March build?

An update for today. It's in the UK, it's on its way to the dealer and the intention is a pre Easter collection. Still waiting for confirmation though as the dealer thinks I have a private plate, which I don't, so hopefully he will call me back and I can get something more definite.

It's getting closer :-)

Its here, collected it this evening. Lovely drive home in it, got the extras I asked for, so all appears to be good.

Loads to look through though and try and understand what is happening. Folding mirrors only fold in with one key at the moment, and I don't appear to have the gear change indicator, so hoping these things are just menu settings somewhere.

Will take pics tomorrow in the daylight, had a very late delivery, in fact the salesman stayed late as the car was still being cleaned when I arrived just after 5:30.

Trip to Manchester this weekend, form Milton Keynes, so will see what the economy is like.

Happy so far :)

As promised, some pictures of the car.

More driving today, and getting used to some of the features, and understanding a little more of what it does. Quite happy with the efficiency programme, although have used the kickdown as well, certainly wakes it up.

Needs a clean already, after the hurried prep yesterday the water has dripped from the mirrors and places and run down the doors, so maybe next weekend, a damn good clean and polish, get it looking sparkly, although its not looking that bad in these pics.

Enjoy

Looking very nice!! I was supposed to be getting my new ice silver A6 s-line tdi ready for Easter but even though it was a week 7 build its still sat on German shores. No real explanation why, apart from blaming the shipping company. So am left looking on here in envy :p Hopefully next week will know more. Anyhow let us all know what you think of your new toy, and how it compares to expectations and your cars of old.

Took delivery of my A6 Sline 2.0tdi on Thursday. Simply stunned at the car.

I ordered with:
Heated seats (Heat up is about 30 seconds so amazing!)
Colour Drivers information centre
Park Assist.

Very surprised to find the car has keyless start, although I am now wondering what to do with the key when I get in lol
Park assist is amazing. Its such a big car and it simply pops itself in the tightest spots on my estate

Gear change notify is just a menu option and if you se the car to economy it will pop up in the middle of the display when to change etc.

Not found my way around half the menu options yet though!

Only down side I have found so far is that Auto Hold has to be activated each and every time I start the car which in my opinion is rather pointless and not so much "auto" my previous VW was on all the time.
Hand brake seems to disengage 50% of the time when pulling away so a little hit and miss. I may be doing something wrong though.

All in all extremely happy with the car and absolutely loving it!
