Hello iam hoping someone can help,I have a 2003 audi a4 and my partners. Came in from work there and passenger windows stuck right down, when I tried to put it up it went very slowly about a inch then made a grinding then a clunk noise then stopped, now motor does go up and down noises but window won't move,I manage with door open to use both hands and slide the window too close it,iam thinking it sounded as if it stiffened up then broke maybe a cable or runner or something, iam going to book into garage but was wondering if anyone knows wot it could be and rough cost to get fixed, thanks for any help :1zhelp:

99.6% sure it's the regulator, you can buy a replacement or a repair kit

If your garage fitted a new OEM regulator, I think you were not ripped off.
I recently bought a new regulator for my driver's door and that cost about £110.00
if I recall correctly. Add to that say 1.5 hours labour, and you have a bill which with VAT
may not be too far off what you paid.
Actually, the job is fairly simple, so you could have saved the labour charge.

Collect, repair, wash & return? That's 2.5 hours labour as unless they're within walking distance its a 2 man job to collect and return the car. Add the part the wash and the personal service, damn good deal IMO
