We have a 1998 audi cabriolet 2.6v6 auto had the car nearly ten years and can honastly say never missed a beat its been in my unit the past 6 months moved it couple of times all seemed okay then started her today to give her a wash ready to use again and normally when starting from cold it will idle high with the "choke" for 30-40 seconds then lower down to a normal idle but today it wouldnt settle down and stayed at high idle i drove it out the unit and it eventually settled down but i could still hear the "choke on" didnt sound like it should then once you touch the acceleraor again it picks back to to 1500-2000 rpm and stays there.. Anyone got any ideas??

Regards Tom

Has the battery been flat?

if yes try procedure in this thread: Audi 80 Quattro Estate 2.6 V6

If no joy, try testing the coolant temp sender G62?
