Hi folks i have a 2007 2.0 tdi 140 and yesterday i noticed the car become unresponsive with the throttle following hard acceleration on a slip road felt as if the car would not go any faster no warning lights appeared and car was very flat, once the car was turned off and left for 10 minutes(while i called at a shop)the car was back to normal driving wise am quite puzzled as what it can be and as no fault light has come up not much to go on could this be the EGR valve or am i barking up the wrong tree any help would be great and thanks.

UPDATE ..EGR valve and mass air flow sensor cleaned and still the car has a acceleration problem car will go up to 2000 rpm and will very slowly rise but no power to accelerate this only happens now and then, say when i am trying to accelerate under load, pulled into a lay-by turned off ignition turned car back on right as rain any suggestions are very welcomed thanks everyone.just to inform no dash light again so cannot diagnose to an error code.

Hey Andy,
don't know if any of this sounds similar or not, but have a look at my threads concerning my issues. Hopefully I'm wrong and way off the mark as my issue sounds potentially worse than yours, but I guess its something else to consider / rule out

CheersThanks again Jim after reading various threads including yours i am still pondering over pump issues for starters, car always starts great no juddering etc smooth, its not all the time either that i am having this problem and the wife has never had it but she does not accelerate hard in the car fault must be electrical ???? for the problem to disappear following turning off of the car i am in the same boat as you as i dont mind going to dealer but to leave with a big bill and still problem persistent it does put me off once again thanks for your patience and time Andy.
