Remove the front passenger seat and the carpet trim at the doors. lift the carpet up, an assistant would be helpful and look for a box about the size of an old video tape with wires going into it. Carefully open the box the CCM is inside if it's wet it's probably toast. You'd get a used one for a score it would probably need coded to the car. Check the wires carefully they can come apart at the joins from dampness it's an easy fix to splice a piece of wire into them.

hi looked under carpet today not there any other ideas anyone thanks
Hi
You will not have a CCM in that model, my 2000 doesn't. The RCL module is in the cuppy hole on the right hand side of the boot. This controls central locking, boot switch and windows i believe.
RE the fan.....It may sound crude but if you don't have vagcom try disconnecting battery for 5 mins, there's a chance if a fault has occurred it 'might' clear. (don't forget radio code if applicable)
