Audi a4 1997 1.8l My wife put 91 fuel in the car and now it won't start. How can I get it started to get to a service station to fill the tank with Premium fuel. There is about one third of a tank now with the 91.

blimmey, 91. we only go as low as 95 here, so you must basically have almost water in the tank. was it running ok when it was running, i can only presume it was and just because the engine was hot. maybe some easy start would get it going, but i fear you may be up for a tank drain and refil, presuming the octane ratings are the same as they are here. difficult one really.

The car was running fine before and will run on 91 if the engine is hot, but cold starts even here in Thailand is difficult.

so you either need some heat, such as a blow torch into the inlet manifold or some easy start o get it to fire. i am thinking of diesels here where the glow plugs have failed but the same would apply to a petrol. possibly even a tow start or bump start down a hill might work.

Thanks for the reply I think the easy start sounds the best. The car is automatic so the bump start is out.
