Drivers door not opening.

Ok I cant open the drivers door from either the inside or outside (fyi both my remotes dont work either), now I have been unlocking/locking my car via the key, and I think the drivers door lock actuator is stuck in the deadlock position, and I can not hear it when I lock and unlock the car either.

I have stripped the door panel off, and removed the regulator, I also had one of my mechanic friends at work (ex vw) who says the actuator has gone. My question is, how the do I remove the actuator if I cant open the door?

Anyone know what I can do to remove the lock?

I've had a similar issue with my wife's mk5 golf and apparently the only way to remove the lock if the door is stuck closed is to take off the outer skin of the door!

I did manage to get her door open in the end by clicking the open button on the remote whilst trying to open the door from the inside. It took 10 minutes but the door popped open in the end. I know this might not help as your remote is broken but might be worth a try using the central locking button inside the car instead?

Nothing I seem to do helps, I have thought about breaking the door lock off, but not sure if that's the best way, the door lock motor seems to be dead, and its stuck in the dead lock position...I have another lock ready to fit, just can't remove this faulty lock :(
