My tyre is losing about 1 bar a day, real slow puncture but still a pain in the ***... Would a tyre centre be able to locate and fix such a slow leak??

Punctures are one of the reasons for their existence!

Nitrogen is supposed to be great for keepin the air in,over normal air.
Will give it a go soon but at £20....

nitrogen molecules are a bit bigger than just air , so don't escape so readily through the rubber as air does. its also less susceptible to temerature fluctuations so keeps a better pressure. but, if loosing a bar a day, its not going to help. a tyre place will inflate the tyre and dunk it in water and see if there are any bubbles indicating a leak. it could be a hole in the tyre or it could be seepage because of a corroded rim. if the tyre needs a repair to the sidewall or outside the central 3/4 band, then it must be scrapped and not repaired.

And don't forget.....air is 78% nitrogen anyway! :D

Not necessarily the tyre. Corroded rims cause slow leaks too. Could be the tyre needs to come off and the wheel rim is thoroughly cleaned and resprayed. Same problem with my wife's A2 alloy when new tyre was fitted.

rims easily sealed with some bead sealer. wire brush it down , apply sealer, job done.

You could fill it with concrete ( have really big molecules):biglaugh:
