Hello this is my first post,so if i get anything wrong i apoligise now.The car is a 2006 avant 3.0tdi quattro bmk engine code. The problem i have is the car going into limp mode whenever it goes over 2000 rpm.i have a code reader that gives me P0299 low turbo pressure.I have replaced the MAP sensor with no effect. The next thing i tried was to pressure test the intake system.I did this with the exhaust removed from the turbo. When i put pressure into the intake side of the turbo i can hear the pressure escaping from the exhaust side of the turbo.i thought that the EGR valve was letting gas past it,so i blanked it off,but the same thing happened. As far as i can tell there are no leaks anywhere in the system from the hoses or intercoolers.Any help would be great.

Have a look here 16683/P0299/000665 - Ross-Tech Wiki (http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/16683/P0299/000665)

Thanks for your reply. With the ignition turned off the turbo actuater moves freely.i have run the turbo up with the use of an airline and then moved the actuator .when you do this you can hear the pitch of the turbo change as the vnt vanes open and close.so i think the vanes are ok.i am going to have a look inside of the actuator servo motor today to see if anything is worn or damaged.

i have looked at the ross tech page and it lists possible causes.
1 Hoses/pipes leaking.i have done a pressure test and they all seem ok,although i am loosing pressure to the exhaust side of the turbo.
2 Charge pressure control defective.as far as i know there is no wastegate on these turbo's.i thought the charge pressure was controlled by the vnt vanes.
3 faulty turbo.
4 check diverter valve.i did not think the turbo had a diverter valve.
Does anyone know if this model of engine has a secondary air supply to control cat tempetures?i have read somewhere that surtain models of audi's do have these systems.

Hello, all.i have found the problem and thought i should let you know.it was TWO blocked catalytic conveters.the turbo could not spin up because the exhaust gases could not get away fast enough.
