Weird brake problem

Hey all, got a weird noise coming from what seems to be the brake pedal? The noise sounds like some sort of grinding and is reasonably loud, the brakes work fine as usual.
This all started today after i hooked up vag-com, did a check on the braking system (the brake pedal sensor is a gonna), the car started bleeping loads and a large handbrake sign flashed on the dash. This all went away when i exited vag-com and now this noise has started.
Used the car yesterday and this noise wasn't there :(

What did you do in vag-com?? talk me through what you did?? did you just run a check and view codes??

for past week the abs and esp lights come on while driving, from reading on here it looked like brake pedal switch but just wanted to double check.
on vag-com did a scan for fault codes and came up with 16955 - Brake Switch and something else (but couldn't read it due to it being sharware). so i went in to the select control module ->abs brakes and that large brake sign flew up on the dash with some bleeping noises. just clicked on fault codes and came up with 16955- brake switch again so i closed vag-com and the car went back to normal.
Just went to drop someone off now and this grinding noise is there??
