Newbie Golf TDI

Hi all, just bought the wife a 02 Golf TDI S, it seems to be in really good condition the only query we have is did this model have remote central locking? There were only 2 standard keys supplied with it, no push button one. I got it at the auction so there was no opportunity to ask the owner.

Yep, should have.... i know the replacements from VW are expensive but you can get them from ebay quite reasonably priced (tune it in using the method in the owners manual, if you got 1. if not find out on here).
I'm not sure how you'd find out what frequency yours was though... Some one on here should be able to offer some better advice.

May be wrong but my son has 2001 Golf 1.4S which has 2 standard keys - no remote central locking. At the time we were looking for his car all the S models we saw had key operated central locking (non remote). Remote locking was one of the extras found on the SE model and above. There may have been a spec change for 2002 of course.
