Hi Guys,

When I first got my Samsung Galaxy S3 a 2 or 3 months ago, pairing it up with my 2010 plate 2.0 Tdie was quick and simple. However, just the other day I noticed that the phonebook isn't showing any more. I've un-paired and re paired over and over and the phonebook still isn't showing.

Has anyone got any ideas of the key check points to try and get the phonebook recognized again?

Cheers!!

A little more of an update which I hope will help others!!

In the Tel settings in the car you can choose which memory the phonebook contacts are taken from (SIM, Phone or SIM & Phone). Currently, mine is set to Sim & Phone.

In which case my phone currently has about 2000 contacts on there, and it takes and age to transfer through the 400 contacts which is the Audi limit.

On previous phones I used to store the contacts that I may call whilst in the car, on my SIM card, and hence then set the Car to use the SIM memory for the phone book. However, as far as I can see there isn't a function on the Galaxy S3 to 'save contacts to SIM card' and hence in my case it transfers the first 400 of the 2000 or so saved.

Hence my next quest is to try and find a way for the Galaxy S3 to save certain contacts to the SIM card!!

I hope that this helps others!!

I got there eventually!!

I keep a copy of my contacts in Microsoft Outlook, and catagorize the contacts that I want to have available whilst in the car as 'Bluetooth'. I then copied all of these 'Bluetooth' contacts into a windows folder. Using Samsung 'Kies' I chose to copy these contacts from pc (ie the folder) whilst choosing the 'sim' tab in Kies. The only slight down fall being that whilst in Kies it only seems to let you copy one contact at a time. However, be patient and the job is done.

Once you have the desired contacts on the SIM card, just use the settings in the car to use 'sim' directory only.

As ever once you start the car it takes a while to transfer the contacts through.

Job done!

** (If you don't have quite as many contacts ...ie <400...it may allow you to do the same in Kies via the phone memory rather than the 'sim' card and of course ask the car to read the phone directory only) **

My question is, did any of your contacts sync even when it was an issue, as you say it took a while to go through 400 or were all your journeys short enough to not have enough time to sync fully or did it just not sync as the contact list was that big & immediately said no cant do that, what about the call lists, did it sync any of these?
