I have a hole in one of the intercooler hoses the one thats above the diesel pump. Any one no where I can get the from cheap. I was quoted £93 from an audi parts place. Is there anything I can use to patch it up for now the hole is the size of a 5p coin.

You would easily get one in a breakers yard from A4 ot Passat, is it the hard plastic pipe with the 10mm bolt? you could try an exhaust bandage the one with the metal strip or a glass fibre patch, clean it well, it doesn't have to be pretty

Rubber with a 5p sized hole? It will need to be replaced maybe a few windings of duct tape would enable you to drive it to a scrapyard or dealers but it would be temporary

When my intercooler got a split in it, I had black smoke and limp mode like yourself, so yes. I also had the emmissions light come up on the dssh though. Splut intercooler pipe would have the same symptoms I'd have thought.

i patched it up with some duck tape yesterday as I am picking the new hose up today. I had a check on it after I had been out to the shops and noticed that some oil was leaking out of the patch where I had taped up. Is this normal to have oil in the hose

Yes oil is very normal on a VAG engine
