Gear Box Swap A4 3.0 Sport

I have an 04 plate Audi A4 3.0 Sport COnvertible that is run by a 5 speed manual gaerbox. I would like to replace the 5 speed with a 6 speed manual box.

Does anyone out there know if its a straight swap, the 5 speed for the 6 speed, or if any other work would be needed please?

Imagine it would be a straight swap, even though a very long job! Thought the 3.0 Sports were all 6-speed boxes though?!

Its an early 3.0 V6 so had the 5 speed box for 6 months when launched then Audi realised the engine cried out for another gear.

A long job, that means plenty of cash on labour and Audi labour rates are some what heavy.

Does anyone know an excellent Audi Gear Box center or Audi Specialist in Hampshire please?

An early V6? thought you said it was an '04 plate?! Mines on an '02 plate and runs on the 6-speed box??

As for Audi specialist in Hampshire, had a look myself as this is where im based & there's not too many. Most promising options i've come across are both near Southampton. One place is called Monks & the other called ABTech, not sure on the numbers so suggest directory enquiries if the location is any good for you.
