Has anyone ever had a ECU remap done on their Q5 and if so what were the results like. Also, could anyone recommend someone who does this properly in the SE?
Thanks

Hi David

We have remapped a lot of Q5s, and they get excellent results. You'll gain 30 bhp and an additional 14% torque from your engine, but as I often explain when people call me, the figures we and everyone else quote are at peak power revs. In reality what matters even more than peak power is the power and responsiveness available at normal driving revs, i.e. 1,000 to 2,000 rpm. In this rev range you get driving improvements that are proportionally higher than even the peak power improvements would suggest. What you will notice is; better responsiveness when you accelerate with virtually no lag, faster acceleration, improved flexibility meaning you will get into and stay in higher gears longer. You'll also gain around 10% to 12% better MPG if you use the new power and flexibility 'normally' rather than to race everywhere.

Please don't hesitate to call if you'd like to discuss this further. The chances are you have a protected ECU in your Q5, so we can talk about what that means for the remap and what your options are.
