I am looking for a reliable parking sensor to be fitted to my Audi A6. Reading reviews online, I see that Steelmate PTS 400EX seems to be a good one. Can someone who use after market parking sensors let me know their experiences?
Also I am looking for someone who can fit these around Romford or Peterborough. Would anyone be able to provide me a good garage which can do the job and doesn't cost me a fortune :)?

Some aftermarket sensors look gack - believe me the previous owners to my a3 fitted them and they aren't as flush as the oem ones.
Once I get the time I'll be ripping them out and fitting the propped canbus Audi units.

I would prefer Audi units as well, but got a quote for £550 fitted. Don't have that budget right now... so would like to consider any good after market alternatives.

I had Steelmate sensors (not sure of the model number - just the basic rear sensors and beeper) fitted to my car when I got it. I don't know if they're as flush as factory fitted sensors but I don't think they stand out too much. Being a black car might help with that.
Being aftermarket, they're perhaps not quite as nice as factory fitted items as you can't adjust the volume or anything else through the MMI, and there's certainly no chance of enabling the display on the MMI, but they do the job and I haven't had any problems with them in the 2½ years they've been fitted.

Hi Neil, I am getting Steelmate as well PTS400ex. I am getting them fitted for £145 colour coded to my car. I didn't want to pay £400 more for the factory ones.
