Over the last couple of weeks I've experienced the ESP kicking in unexpectedly (such as when driving in a straight line!) and sometimes failing to extinguish the warning light when starting the car.
My suspicion is that I have a dodgy sensor somewhere, rather than it being an issue with the hydraulic control valve / ABS unit.
Generally when the system trips out it can be cleared by restarting the car.
Are the sensors separate to the ABS ones?
Does anyone have VCDS in Stoke on Trent who can help out with identifying the cause of the faults?

The ESP uses that same sensor as the ABS. It may be a dirty sensor/rotor but I think you need a diagnostic code read. Regards Peter
