Brake Pads

Hi folks, the yellow warning light for pad wear appeared the other day. The pads look like they have maybe 7 mm left, but maybe they have a bigger wear limit than my other cars.
I'm going to change the front pads, and check the rears anyway.
Before I start is there anything I should be aware of?

I should add that the car is a 2002 2.5 Tdi Quattro S-Line saloon with the AKE engine and a 6sp manual box.

The pad wear wire is buried in the Pad at about 2 - 3 mm from the backing so the light should not come on at 7mm. Perhaps you have an inner pad that is wearing due to a sticking caliper or you have a connector problem at one of the wheels. Do you know which calipers you have. Look through the allow and describe the spring you may see. If it hooked on to the back of the outer pad. Regards Peter
