As the title suggests, I'm selling up and wondering if having alloy wheels (18" old style Audi rs4) and a towbar fitted to my 02 Golf GT TDi 150 will deter more buyers than attract?

Cars with big aftermarket (especially reps) rims always deter me. Towbars, not so much. As long as the car has been looked after and serviced when it should be, the only thing I'd worry about is the wear on the clutch - but that's a risk with every used car.

For me, not so much on the alloys, the key factor being that they're in good condition.
The towbar for me, would be an instant no no, thinking of all the towing, extra engine load, clutch issues etc.
I'd avise removal if its something you can easily do, perhaps even sell seperately?

If they are genuine VAG alloys then I would be fine with them, reps I would not even go to view it.
A towbar also makes the car less desirable as it will probably of had a harder life, so is IMO worth less.Put the car back to std and sell the bits.

Thanks for your input guys.
Alloys are replicas in good condition.
Towbar only been used to tow half a dozen times in the 3 years I've owned the car. Although the moment I say that, potential buyers are going to think I'm saying that because it's what they want to hear.
Think I will put back to standard and sell the parts.
Thanks.
