Replacing the standard cd & tape player from a 02 GT Tdi

I have just bought a 2nd hand double din JVC stereo unit to replace the original tape and cd player in my 02 Golf GT Tdi. The 2nd hand unit has come without a mounting frame (but has all the wires), so the question is, will I need to buy a double din facia kit or should it all slide nicely into place without the need to buy more stuff????
