I have a new, March 2012, A4 Saloon 143BHP which is certainly nice to drive but which has been suffering a series of mainly electrical fault indications over the last 3 weeks. Initially, it was a complete loss of any dashboard indications on start up along with a loss of power steering. This cleared after about 30 mins and several lock/unlock cycles. Since then I get an ESC fault warning every few days combined with a Start/Stop system fault. This usually clears after about 30 mins and several lock/unlock cycles.

Today, on starting I got a Parking Brake failure along with a Start/Stop fault indication and loss of the Cruise Control function. This has not cleared and I'm parking in gear. The Audi garage couldn't find any trace of a fault in response to the first item in the paragraph above and it's going in next week for some Audi notified update components, so they can have a look at it then.

Has anyone else had problems with the latest models, or have I got a 'Friday car'?

A C7 A6 user had sorta the same electrical fault in his new car where everything just stopped working while he was driving along - Audi took the car back to Germany for research and he was provided with a brand new car.

See what they say and it may well turn out they will keep it for a few days for technicians to test while driving home etc.

Welcome along ;)

if your losing power steering and they have no idea I would suggest the car is unsafe and you should dump it back at the dealer. At slow speed it will be difficult to steer out of the way of a pedestrian or other vehicle.
