my 2008 avant b8,s rear wiper has decided to stay stuck in mid cycle!!. ive trawled through the 1st 15 or so pages looking to see if others have had this problem but not found anything as yet. my old car a 2003 a4 avant had this problem and i had to replace the unit ( a bit awkward to get the trim panel off the tailgate!) can anyone enlighten me as to how difficult a job it is and how costly and if it is the same design fault ie water gathers in the electronics when the slightest of dirt stops it squirting.

I had this problem with my B7 Avant, and was able to fix it temporarily before selling by removing, dismantling, drying and silicone greasing the affected gubbins. Not a difficult job but usually requires a new assembly which was about £120, I would have thought they had fixed this on the B8 as you see many B6/7's around with this issue as well as A3's whci I am guessing use the same part.

yeah i replaced the one on my 03 avant, but dont know if its the same part on the newer a4. hence the questions on here for the folk in the know, hopefully someone will know and post up thanks.

has nobody else had this problem??

mine started working again but has now stuck mid flight again! if anyone knows part number and hint tips on replacement that would be great,
