Had two today, normally I don't get to play all month then three come along in one week.
The first was a Std VXR from 40 to 90, it was pulling away between 60 and 90 but not that quickly. Made me smile as I thought they were S*@t fast.
Then today I had a great result with a MK1 TT 225 Quattro (twin tail pipes).
We were leaving a 30 and entering a 60 that joined a 70 dual carriageway all of which was uphill to a roundabout.
I think he had a look at the front of my car and thought "easy" as I have nothing to distinguish me from a 1.granny A3.
When we got well into the 60 and he was still doing 40 i thought come on mate. Then he booted his TT, I was ready and went as well. I had to back off on the throttle as I could've gone past him. When we hit the dual carriageway I went past him slowly up to about 99 ( :D ) He was then starting to catch up. I always thought they were quick though so it made my day.
Then later on I was next to a Golf GTI Mk5, and I know they are very quick 0-60 so didn't even try, just kept behind, then when I thought he wasn't bothered I went to go past to which he reacted and tried to go past me. This must of been between 50 and 90 and he couldn't. I then waved him past as we were both running out of sliproad on't M40.
:) Just thought I'd share that with some of you. Has anyone else had a play recently?

Damn Clio's
I saw one the other month that had the 2.0i under it's bonnet. It then got me thinking of when people used to stick the Vauxhall 2.0i under a nova bonnet. That would do 0-60 in about 5 seconds and 155
Bet the clio is now where near that. Still it's probably twice the weight.
I had a go with a saxo vst thismorning, from the lights up the A38, i went to 4000 revs in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th all whilst looking ar his rear bumper:zx11:
i then had to ease off as i was in the left lane (lorries) , sat behind him at 90 - 100 then he began to hold me up. passed him at 1x0 and hes was a dot in the mirror at 1x0.
Still lost tho:(

0-60 he would of had 1.5 - 2 seconds on you, but then you would of been clawing him back.
Shame you weren't on the move, he would of been whipped. :)
It's a shame there aren't more people who fancy a ding dong every now and again, you see these really sporty cars tootling about, worried about fuel consumption or trying to listen to radio bore or something.
Those Paxos are quick cars, I think it has something to do with the fact that my peanut butter on toast weighs more than one.
The Golf is a lardy car too, which doesn't help matters.

Had one last night with paxo, he was getting all twitchy behind me on an empty road, hit the 90degree left at the lights at the bottom in my scirocco, poured on the power flew through the corner n could hear him revving wildly trying to catch me but he didnt manage it for a good half minute

had a dinky one with my first VAG car, it was a lowered, Tinted windowed, Exhaust'd, alloyed, Ibiza Cupra R in massively bright Yellow.
It was a really wide road where you are able to overtake easily, i saw it ahead of me a few miles earlier and thought it would be nice to see what it was like.
I then came up behind him to allow him to "go first", which he did and got the jump on me, we started at about 50 and went on to about 1x0 before we both had to brake for a roundabout, then it was another blast from 20 to 1x0.
On the initial run he was very slightly pulling away upto about 100 then I caught up. on the second run I was able to keep up and even back off. i decided to back off rather than overtake as it would of been quite slowly.
i then had a stupid laguna try it on, just let the **** past, most of the time there's no point if it's not gonna be close, of course unless someone really thinks they could take it on, and then loose really badly.

Porsche Boxter (not an S) so I thought I'd have a go passing. I was behind him and I think he heard me  down shift at about 60 (him being in a cabriolet and me revving the ole V8 and all that) into third and I could see the smoke come out of his exhaust as he did the same. I was at at about 100 within a few seconds and he was in my rear view mirror; just before the bad bend .
A few weeks later, same road, behind a Caterham 7 (it must have been a Super Light or a CSR), completely different outcome, he took off like a bullet out of a gun; those things shift ;).

A powerful engine and light body...and you've got a thoroughbred there. Don't see many Caterhams about now... did they go bankrupt or something?
So how much did that downshift and 60-100 sprint cost you... a fiver?:p

I think they're still going, this cosworth engined one looks pretty quick.

0-60 in 3.1 seconds :drive: and I bet they go round corners pretty well too.
Maybe haven't seen many this year due to the lack of summer type weather .
A bit quick for the S4; but I'd give it a run for its money on my bike ;).
The S4 can certainly gulp that petrol down when you're on it, but when you want to pootle you can get up to 30mpg. So long as you're not hammering it everywhere it's a relatively easy car to live with. I fill up just over once a week, 55 quid, bargain, considering the noise from the V8 and the way it seems to accelerate (when you want to ) like it's ripping up the road beneath you (even in the rain ........... four wheel drive is the business ;)).
