VW / VAG Independent Hall Green / Olton / Solihull

Hi all, new to this forum and VW ownership. Used the search function but it's not come up with exaxtly what i'm looking for, well it has sort of, read on !

I'm looking for some recommendations for a trustworthy garage to get my cambelt changed on my Polo 1.9tdi in the Solihull / Hall Green / Olton area, preferably an Independent specialist in VW / VAG cars as I've been ripped off previously when I owned my Audi A3 by a local garage to me who claimed they were specialists (i won't name and shame them) They probably though that being a woman I wouldn't question anything, typical !!

I was recommended by a friend that had previously used them a place up in Hollywood, Birmingham called Wizardworks working next to a company called Volkswizard or something like that, that did servicing and repairs on all VW Group cars, after googling the name and searching on here there seems to be nothing called this anymore apart from a few broken links that don't work, does anybody know if Iain the Mechanic from there is working somewhere else now or set up on his own, any help would be much appreciated or failing that some other recommendations of other local garages, many thanks all

Welcome to the site :) You could try Audi | VW | Seat | Skoda | Repair & Servicing Birmingham | Central Audi & VW Specialists (http://www.centralaudivw.co.uk/) they are in Birmingham, and seem to get good reports... They are also sponsors of the site;)

Thanks for the link, had a look at their site, look good, just a bit futher than I wanted to travel really and don't like going over that side of Birmingham !! i'll keep searching for someone more local to me thanks as the work i need doing isn't too desperate yet ;)

Hi I use Central Audi based in Erdington the guy even gives you a lift into work or back home. I can seriously recommend them

Might give them a try thanks if i can't find anything nearer, i've got a few leads on the mechanic i'm looking for, I've been told he's possibly working somewhere near Acocks Green now, hopefully i'll be able to find it, not far from where I work and live, thanks for all your help:o I'll post back my findings as I'm sure I'm not the only one looking for him as he has a good reputation for VW related work

Iain has now set up on his own (from what I understand Andrew at Volkswizard decided he didn't want to do servicing any more). The garage name is ISA Technik, ISA Technik :: Home (http://www.isatechnik.co.uk) based in Acocks Green and you can get hold of Iain on 07879 878 071.

I can't recommend Iain enough, I get far better service for him on my wifes A3 and some of the cars that we have at work than I ever get from Birmingham Audi when they service my A6 (have no choice, it's a Lex lease car)

Thank you so much for the info, i'm sure I wasn't the only person who's been looking for Iain from Wizardworks / Volkswizard, car is now booked in to have the cambelt and waterpump done and the other niggling issues sorted, fingers crossed it doesn't cost too much more than the very reasonable cambelt price Iain's quoted me, wish me luck ;)

Hi dandam, sorry it's taken me so long to reply, don't get on here much and i've been really busy, anyway thanks for the info, it's really done me a favour, work was carried out on time and I was kept informed of the other things that needed doing to sort my niggling little issues, couldn't have asked for a better service, price was really good too, i would highly recommend Iain at ISA Technik VW Audi Seat and Skoda Servicing to anybody local in the Hall Green, Olton, Solihull area, give them a try, i think you'll be pleasantly suprised

Sorry to resurrect such an old thread, but keen to know where previous customers of Ian at ISA Technik have now gone to for all VW maintenance, I have a 2003 MK4 Golf TDI PD150 which I would like to be maintained by someone local in Solihull area and by someone who knows the way around these older golfs.
