My alarm went off yesterday for the first time in the coming up for 5 years I have had the car, at least I now know what it sound like!!
However, I don't understand aspects of it?
I left the car outside the house, all doors and windows closed, but unlocked. I was carrying something heavy and was going to go back out and lock the car but forgot.
About 10 mins later the alarm went off and when I went outside all the 4 windows had fully opened:confused::confused:.
Surely if the car is left unlocked then the alarm hasn't been primed? As for the windows all opening, seems a good invite for a thief if I had walked away from the car in a car park forgetting to lock it.
Is this normal, has anybody else experienced it?

A long key press will open the windows if that's how they are coded. Another long key press will close them. I bet you sat on your keys. I doubt it's due to leaving the car unlocked. That shouldn't make any difference.

I did exactly the same thing, crouched down while doing my BBQ and watched as the windows started lowering themselves! Thought I'd had too many Fosters until I stood up and they stopped. Realised then that the key was in my pocket and the button was getting pushed as I crouched down.

Thanks for the two replies guys and I understand where you are coming from. But that wouldn't cause the alarm to go off and I am certain the windows were closed when I walked away from the car because it was rainng and there was no way I could have pressed the key because they were in the house.
I guess my concern is that a have a gremlin in the electronics? Why else would the alarm go off when the car wasn't locked and then open the windows?
