Hi Everyone, I have come from golfmkv.com / uk-mkivs.net / tidyvag.co.uk / southerndubbers.com I only just found this one through google.

I own a 2006 1.6 FSI Match and am totally new to modding so i'll more than likely be smothering you all in stupid questions! :biglaugh:

dont you worry, im an experianced forum goer, and know how frustrating it is, the xbox 360 forums are the worst for it, i think there is about 2000 threads titled '3 red lights' lol.

No i searched for 1.6FSI and not really anything too insightful its annoying though coz this search engine wont let me search '1.6' 'FSI' or '1.6 FSI' you have to do it no spaces which dont help :(

but anyway hello!

Yes the search function does need improving, as a team we are looking into it.

Yes whats the 1.6 like, my nieghbour had a Polo 1.4fsi i think and he thought it lacked power.

Didnt know there was such thing as a polo 1.4 fsi? i thought it was standard petrol 16v like the 9n?

Im impressed with it tbh, i got it on a limited time deal from a ***********, it was 15k but came with ***** loads of extras, like armrest, coming/leaving home, auto wipers, auto lights, footwell lights, a/c glovebox (still dont know why), three spoke leather steering, 16's, etc etc for 15k which tbh is pretty good.

o and the ipod thing too :)

i cant really judge it on performance, this is the biggest engine iv had (previously owned a 2004 1.4 16v Polo), so to me it's excellent, considerably faster than the polo, and its defo better than the 1.4 Golf! I think the FSI engine works really well both for MPG and speed, it really shifts in low revs (i think thats the supercharger that makes a funny noise between 1800-3000RPM)

But yer i couldnt be happier really, im totally new to modding so im well scared of doing anything to it, plus there are many other worries for me like invalidating warranty/insurance etc. I think ill wait till i get a GTI / R32 to modify! id like to keep the value of this 1 up

Welcome to the forum.

I think you are wise not to mod it. If you do do anything, my advice would be to keep it VW. what i'm trying to say for example, if you want to change the alloys, don't go and put bbs or oz alloys on, maintain the look of the car and get some VW alloys.

yer i think thats the way ill be going because iv payed for the service plan too, so if i modded it then had something go wrong they wouldnt touch it and thatd be 600 quid down the drain straight away!

if i do anything i think itll b r32 wheels and the votexx kit. how do you find your gt? i wanted to get one but couldnt scrape an extra 3k for it
