Ive had my A4 for over a month now and been filling up with different volumes to try and work out exactly how much its costing me to run it.I have tried £10 £20 £40 £60 just to see if the are any variations anyway it looks like I use £20 for approx 80 85 mile .This is around the town and not many motorway miles. Is this consistant with anyone else as Im really looking to have to change this to a diesel model, which I dont want to do but I dont think I can sustain the costs long term .Is the diesel model much better in way of usage and would it warrant spending £3000 plus to get the model. Also is there a way of seeing if your car is running efficiently?
thanks

Paul

I think that's about 25mpg then?

Check out the current A4 TDI consumption thread. Even the 2.0 TDI doesn't do "what it says on the tin". I'm getting about 38mpg, also with an urban bias, but can get more a decent individual journeys.

So, that's 50% more, but not sure if it will save you enough to warrant a change?
