I'm sure this has been the subject of discussion before.

I'm not sure is mine is the tiptronic box or another version, it is the one where you can move the gear lever to the right and use it manually, I think its the constantly variable version.

When moving off from rest I'm getting a violent shudder as I accelerate, it does seem to be getting worse.

The car has done around 69,500 miles, and is just over 6 years old.

Will this get much worse and if so what needs to be done. I dont want to shell out on a new gearbox.

Is there a specialist company who knows about this fault and can deal with it at a reasonable cost?

I have to say considering that this is a high end luxury and expensive car I'm not impressed with the reliability of it.

Second that - IndieTech rebuilt my Multitronic's ECU and - touchwood - it's been fine for the last year (that's done it!)
