I hope this isn't a plug for the company as its your first post .. Hmm
What products did they use?
Ha no! Picked it up last Thursday from Wakefield Audi when it was pouring it down with rain. Did not get Supaguard from dealer, so had a peek on detailing world.co.uk and found them. Daytona gray comes up a treat when polished.
sorry didn't read the last bit. He used something called ceramishield.
I'll be keen to see how you find Ceramishield. I am having it applied to my A6 when it arrives.
He said Ceramishield is guaranteed for 2 years. I had to have it done quickly as Wakefield Audi left huge swirlmarks on the paint and the black pillars.had to use a cutting agent to get rid of them. Took 6 hours to have it all done. I'll keep you posted once I've washed and polished the car myself, with the recommended cleaning products.
It has a very good reputation. 2 years is what they claim, if it manages half of that then I'll be impressed though.
Certain Audi dealerships are actually offering Ceramicoat as an option on new cars now.
A friend of mine has just become an authorised agent for CCC (the importer) too!
What cleaning products would you recommend to keep the car in top shape. I'll propably wash and polish the car maybe once a month.

Did JDG not advise you of the products to use?
Recommended concourse and Oro shampoo. Just wanted to know what other products you guys are using.
The coating is so hard that pretty much any decent car shampoo will work well.
Regarding polishing, it won't really have any effect, again, due to the hardness of the coating. You can use a Wax or glaze over the top if you like though.
Ask on Detailing World, you'll get advice from professionals then.

Be cautious of advice taken on detailing world, they're renowned for their trends and favourite products can change quite often.
Not everyone on DW is a "pro" either ;)

He'll be fine as Ceramishield is (almost) flavour of the month! (Well, it was a few weeks ago... they move quick as you say!)
Apologies if I mislead on the advice from a pro comment. It's pretty obvious after a few minutes reading who is worth listening too for opinion/advice and who isn't.

I remember jetseal and the host of accelerator reviews that popped up when that first came out. Check the reviews for that product now... That was my point really, DW is a good resource for advice but a lot of people are sheep and (believe it or not) there are product reviews on there from people that haven't actually tried the product themselves!

If you don't mind me asking how much did they charge ??? got the same car in same colour and thinking of having it done.
Worked out to £150 for Ceramishield. Took approx 5.5 hrs to do and Daytona Grey does look stunning under a sunny sky.

I wax my car once a month to keep it in top condition, but if you polish yours you can ruin the treatment that has just been applied. I suggest you ask your detailer what you should do. However if guaranteed for 2 years then the answer must be nothing for 2 years.

Ceramishield is so hard that any product being applied by hand won't damage it, you'll be fine.

just given my new toy its first wax since arriving. Auto Glym HD wax. Very pleased with results and found the stuff quite easy to apply and polish off. Quick question, the auto glym resin polish - is that a longer lasting finish than ordinary wax? I didn't opt for sureguard when I bought the car, so am keen to get something on to protect the paint. Not sure I fancy ceramishield as a DIY project, but don't mind giving it a normal wax. Will the HD give much protection, or is it just for shine?
