Hi

I've searched the forums but can't find this particular one. Apologies if already addressed.

1) How easy are the bulbs in the boot area of the B8 Avant (1x tailgate; 2x boot) to replace? Can't see it in the manual or reference to bulb type/wattage. I'm assuming a flat blade screwdriver tends to be used for the covers?

I'm considering replacing just these with LEDs as although I prefer the tungsten colour in the front and find LED white a little harsh, in the boot I'd appreciate the extra brightness.

2) I'd be interested in which LEDS are considered the better quality as I'd rather not risk a cheap, poorly heatsinked one burning out and potentially causing problems (I'm guessing this is unlikely but all the same..)

Model is a 58 plate SE

You are lucky to have bulbs. At the first service (nearly 2 years) I asked for the bown bulb to be replaced. I was told that it was a blanking panel! Off to the A4 in the showroom and by magic it was not a blanking panel. 5 mins later I was told that there was in fact no bulb in the socket and it appears that the PDI was not as thorough as it could have been.

Bottom line is that light is still pretty dismal so I will watch your project with interest.
