vw passat injector

hi, i'am new to this site but i really need some advice, i have just bought a vw passat 2.0d sport on a 56 plate with 37000 miles on the clock, im due to pick the car up on Wednesday from my local vw dealer, i was talking to a friend of mine about my new car an he told me to be careful as they have alot of issues with the injectors, i decided to do some research an to my horror ive found this to be correct however there is alot of posts on here stating vw are re calling them an changing the injectors. im a little unsure were i stand with this as like i said i only pick the car up on wednesday, any advice would be very welcome

ask them if the car is affected and if it is, ask if the injectors and loom have been replaced.

hello chris, if the car is affected an not been done do you think they will change them? do you know anything about the recall like if there was actually a recall for this issue

yep there was an official recall for these, they called it a safety campaign.

they will change them 100% if the car is affected

well i rang vw uk this morning who informed me the car had the injectors changed in march 12, i also went to the dealership an ended up speaking to the lads in the workshop who also told me the car had a full service, cam belt changed and 4 new injectors in march this year, good news eh????? so does anybody know anything about the new injectors they use? are they reliable an will they last?

I think the letters etc I saw called it a 'customer satisfaction' or 'product enhancement' campaign. I suspect they like to avoid the use of the s-word when they can if it's related to a vehicle defect. :bad:
