Hi All,

I've Ash, just bought an Avant a4 1.8t Quattro. it's great part for a few niggles. Its a 2000 plate, I've got lovely lines running through the LCD part of the dash.

Also, cracked abs ring, which I'll get sorted next week. But more oddly, when I'm moving and I brake it hear a knock noise, almost sounds like its coming from the dash. When the car is static and you jump on the brake or press lightly it doesn't do it. So just wondering if this also could be due to the abs broken ring? That pulses slightly as I come to a stop.

Should my car be factory fitted with HID's? or do you think the previous owner has fitted them?

Any helps or tips are welcome.

LCD failure is very common and there are numerous repair kits availabe - do a search here for LCD replacement.

By law, HID's in the UK have got to be fitted with automatic self leveling and washers.

I can't see any washers in your picture...

From what I've read up it's post 2004 for the washer's. But it does self level when I drive along seems to wobble a little if that makes sense.

That's the HID Box? So I am wondering if it's an aftermaket fit. Take it it's going to fail the MOT then?
