Hi
We have recently had our car scanned again by Mark, and we keep on getting a returning fault and wondering if anyone knows what it will take to fix this before taking the car to Audi and having to pay them nearly £100 just to check it out.

Does the heat blow cold when the temp is set high?
Have a look here - http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?128271-A6-Climate-Control-Heating-problem&

When I turn the heat up the car warms up nicely inside and also when on cool it seems to blow cold also, and there is no MIL light on. We are driving the car to Salou in the summer so hopefully will have aircon working ok lol

Also wondering is this pump easy to reach if I get the parts and replace it myself as been trying to find the info on Elsawin 3.91 but cannot find any info relating to it

With the upmost respect, if the car has no warnining lights on the dash and you cannot find ANY problems with the car, you deserve to pay Audi £100 to look at it. Matey honestly, why the hell are you chasing s fault code that is not causing any problems ? A glitch in the Matrix ?

Thanks for the reply, and the reason I am chasing it is to try and get as much info as possible as not sure what the defect should be with this fault and I thought this forum was the place to ask questions, but obviously not lol.
We are not getting really hot weather just now so unsure if the aircon is working to full capacity with this fault as the cold air might be coming in from outside and I grudge giving Audi £100 just to look at a car, sooner some of these dealers start having financial difficulties the better and perhaps costs may get back to sensible levels instead of thinking we are main dealers and like to rip people off.

I dont mean to be unhelpfull but I do this for a living day in, day out. Watching people having to spend £100s or even £1000s of their hard earned cash that most people dont even have to spare to pay for expensive parts. To see someone chasing a fault code that has absolutly no meaning or will cause no trouble but simply because their wee buddy has a copy of VCDS and it says there is a fault there. Gets on my nerves just. Im a friendly, helpfull guy really but just not when it comes to ( in my eyes ) silly weekend mechanics trying to solve trouble codes. My humble appologies for being a ******* :) Rant over :D

The fact that code is shown as being Intermittent means that at the time of the scan, the fault was no longer present - the fault happened at some point and was not present at the time of the scan... Clear the code and in a few weeks scan to see if it returns. If it does and you notice a problem with the car, take it to have it serviced... I do not believe you have a major worry here.

...... I grudge giving Audi £100 just to look at a car, ...... main dealers .....like to rip people off.
I get that you don't want to pay someone to diagnose your car. Do you pay someone to diagnose medical problems? Or do you go to WebMD, put your symptoms in, get a web solution, and then walk into your doctor and demand that he write a script for the prescription WebMD has provided you? Professional diagnosis done by a trained professional demands that the person be compensated.
If it was easy to do, why aren't more people making a bunch of money doing it? Simple: a diagnostic scan does not a repair make! The person using the tool has to have spent time learning and studying all the crazy stuff the VAG engineers put into these cars. Then they have to be able to see the forest through the trees.
I get A4Lad's rant and I get a8 tech's support of that. So many disparage these guys - saying they work for ********hips and such.. The truth is, like in all professions, there are good people who know their stuff and their are people who "play at it". The good guys are worth their weight in gold! They deserve all the support and the proper fees so they can enjoy life and feed their families.
I sure would like to see enthusiasts that love to work on their own car show respect to those who make their a living fixing cars. It is an honorable profession without which we all would be stranded on the road somewhere.
.... end of my rant.......

Amen I hear you
The fact that members wish to repair to diagnose is fine but dealer costs and indi costs have to cover lots if over heads plus your paying for there experience
I can say that dealers are busier than ever with all models and Audi now offer so much support for vehicles outside of warranty it's beneficial to support your dealers
There are new policies coming in as of April with 5 year warranty plans and more focus on customer satisfaction
As for indi workshops they to have to turn a profit with increased tooling costs and training they need to charge a rate which reflects there investment
DIY is fine but without professional forum members giving free advise then this forum would just be full of DIY bodge and dodgers
Technology moves on so fast now That it boggles the mind for all
Remember this for this forum to keep its experienced members then it must also realise there effort to support and offer best practice to resolve your faults
I for one have little time these days for the increase in anti dealer or motor trade comments and that also goes for clone vcds users
For Ross tech to develop they need support from vcds users
And not eBay Chinese sellers
How many vcds users actually no how to use it in full
Not that many I bet
I use it with my Eyes shut but then again I'm also a fully accredited vas coach and odis plus I'm a Audi master technician
