View Full Version : Please Help No Sound from Symphony 3 (2008)

Hi

I had a concert 3 radio which worked fine. I decided to replace this for the aux output which mine does not have and it connects all fine but there is no sound coming from the symphony 3. I connected the concert back up and all fine. tried it again but nothing. everything else works all functions etc but not getting any sound????

any ideas guys

You could try disconnecting the car battery for 10 mins to force a reset. I wonder if it has component protection which would have to be removed by a dealer

If it had component protection wouldnt it not come on at all. i mean i can access everything on it but it just wont play sound

There are at least two generations of "Component Protection". The
8E-Chassis A4's use the the first generation which simply requires a
fixed value stuffed into an Adaptation Channel to initialize it.
VAG-COM can do these, no problem.

Can anyone confirm if this is possible

I added this to my Concert 2008 some time ago, from memory you have to enable the aux function, under long coding in the radio module.

So did you replace your concert with a symphony??

When I got a new radio a few months ago, it had component protection on it, everything worked fine, going through menu's etc, but the only difference was there was no sound.

I was shown all this by the installer, and he did it in front of me, and then removed it.

Sorry, I am not sure, the person that fitted my new unit is actually a contractor at Manchester Audi....so he did it for me as part of the price.
