2007 a3 2.0tdi 140 engine judder on startup.

Hi everyone I have just registered on here.

I have a very annoying fault with my car 2007 A3 2.0tdi 140 s-line.

I had quite a violent shudder when starting my car from both cold & warm. I'd turn the key & the engine would shake a few times & would then fire up. Driving the car though is flawless ! This shudder could react differently each time i turn the key.
Anyway & took it to a chief Audi mech, he turned the key ..heard the shake & rattle & said your dual mass flywheel is shot. I got it replaced & also had my timing belt done as engine is on 70000.
When I got the car back, there was still a very little shudder on startup still. However, it is much milder but is getting worse! I'm taking the car back to the mech as he felt it too!
New DMFW, new timing belt! What can be causing the engine to shudder when the key is turned??? I am desperate now for any knowledge known about my issue. I've thrown a £1000.00 at it & the problem has only eased & not gone completely.:crying:

Could be an engine mount.

Hi, thanks for the heads up with the engine mount theory, but the fault is defo mechanical. I think that either the new DMFW is faulty, he didn't really fit it & took my cash or there maybe a fuel starvation issue. The engine is trying to fire up but it shudders very quickly & sounds like the exhaust is hitting the underside because of the movement, but it isn't!
I just feel like selling the car on & never own an Audi ever again.It was my dream car, but I've never seen a manufacturer with so many defects, the list is huge! Especially DMFW'S:zx11::aargh4: Audi don't do recalls either! With the injector failure on the 170's Audi did nothing until they were preassured into fixing them all.
