Morning All:

Wondering how long my gearbox is expected to last. I can't find any service intervals information for gearboxes.

It's an S Reg A6 2.5TDI Quattro Avant with 165k. Several owners. Remapped (no chip).

Good service history, all up-to-date.

When the box goes it'll be a write-off so what to know when to start looking for a replacement as I can't afford to be without a car.

Thanks :)

One of my previous cars was a Saab 9-5 auto, when I sold it it had 250,000 miles under its belt with no problems. The auto box was rock sold.
I've just bought an A6 Quattro (6 sp manual) with 154,000 miles under its belt and don't expect any gearbox issues.

Good to know, thanks.

My next car will probably be a 9-5 so good to know they're long-lived too :)
