help with strange noise

right i will explain as best i can
when i change up from 2nd to 3rd i can hear a deep whistle sound (sorry the best way i can describe it)
this seems to happen when i depress the clutch

just had a full service and cam belt change 2 weeks ago and never noticed it before then

2006 passat 1,9 tdi
any ideas

if it whistles when the clutch is depressed, then it sounds like the release bearing.
common on all cars just about, nothing much to worry about, it'll be a while before you need to do anything about it

thought maybe i might be the turbo or something
no loss of power so looks like your right

Is it as the engine drops while you shift, if it is it's dumping air and this is normal.
