Have you checked if they are getting current through the wires?
Does the engine seem to splutter before starting? Your compression might be a bit low.
Had a huge arguement with my neighbour about his van last week, told him it was compression, didn't listen, did a compression test and there it was lol. Compression to blame.

The diesel gets back to the tank as the car cannot keep the fuel system primed ! I suggest you look at the timing first (if too advanced/retarded it will cause symilar symptoms) then look for perished rubber fuel hoses. I would try parking the car nose down on a hill just to rule the fuel going back tot the tank, if it still starts badly then it's your timing.

i changed all the filters on the car i then decided to take egr off and when i did it, it was caked up with sut that had gone like rock so i blancked it off and now it takes a while to warm up it starts alot better tho so do you think its worth me taking yhe inlet manifold off and clean it all and change gasket i also noticed that the pipe coming from the intercooler to the inlet had some oil in it cuz of that egr so ill clean that out too is it

Hi there, dose the glow light come on for longer when the engine is hot? if so it could be the water temp sensor.
