The castrol website says to use CASTROL EDGE 5W 30.
but i have lots of CASTROL EDGE 0W 30,could i use this, would it damage engine,i think it might effect the particle filter, thats if it has one, dont know!!!

You should use whats recommended especially when it depends on which service interval your car is following (longlife or fixed).

I think the topup oil thats in my boot in my A3 is 5W30. But I've not had the car for two weeks so I could be wrong. But im pretty sure it is.

You should only use fully synthetic 5w 30 in accordance with the service book

Yeap 5w30, using the wrong viscosity could cause engine wear & damage, dont risk it.
