I bought one, came with no instructiins so i pumped 20 times. I thought that would be it but i had to keep pumping every 5 mins for 2 hrs

Is there something i'm missing? Should the oil be warm or hot even?

Oil should be hot. It comes out FAR easier when the oil is hot (and therefore flows much better).

Mine takes about 10-15 minutes maximum to remove 4.5 litres.

The other point about the oil being hot is that (having just been well churned) it should be holding more of the crap in suspension rather than any rubbish having settled out.

That's a good point, the heavier contaminates would have still been trapped elsewhere

Almost makes me wanna do it again

I wouldn't worry too much - if heavy contaminates are going to settle somewhere other than in the sump then they'll still do it - you're still only taking oil from the sump so the best you can hope by draining the oil hot is to get what would otherwise settle out of the hot oil in the sump.

And if by heavy contaminants you are thinking of metal scurf then you've got other problems anyway.
