I am thinking of selling my 2008 A6 2.0 avant with a pretty high spec. Does anybody have any ideas where or how is a good place to sell thanks.

Go down the usual routes Autotrader, local rags etc or if you want a quick sale one of the cash for cars websites

I would say the obvious Auto Trader but beleive me all i got was useless scam emails when I had mine on there. Have to beware of this sort of thing mate. See if you can put it on this site in sell your stuff section maybe as then you will be targetting the right audience at least.

The usual car buying adverts on tv dont give you right price to be honest but then again given the age of your car and the kit on it you might wanna try it at least. see what they quote you. Good Luck

Hi, agree with all the above. You have the option of telesafe with AT which is useful for cutting it down but do watch out for the many scammers out there. Ebay gives quite a wide audience too, but again expect low offers, being asked to ship overseas etc. Recently sold a car and so long as you find an honest buyer and do the usual things to protect yourself from theft and the payment scams you can do okay. Local papers and work noticeboards too.

I have always found the car buying companies will offer a very low price, you can do far better yourself if you put the effort in. Be realistic in your price expectations too otherwise all the cleaning and advertising will just go to waste. Price it fairly against similar cars that are for sale.

Good luck.

When I sold my last car, I got the best response from a classified add on Ebay, £10 for 28 days I think it was.
However I eventually sold it from an advert I had on a notice board at work!!

Put the Lexus up on the usual admag type papers etc.. got one call offering much less.. but he did say try gumtree..
So put it on gumtree.. and got an email pretty quick.. guy came up on train about 200 miles.. and paid cash, at the price I wanted.

Probably a bit of luck just having someone looking for exactly the car I had.
