camshaft sensor fault.

Hi my a3 2.0fsi on a 04 sometimes fails to start. when i plug it into a snap on reader is says theres a problem with the camshaft sensor. I replaced this with a new one from audi but still the car sometimes wont start. It drives really well when it starts. When it dosent start if i plug it in and reset the camshaft sensor code it then starts. Weird! Can anyone help

Quick update. Changed the crank/speed sensor with an after market one and coolant temp sensor and had auto elec check it over but still can struggles to start after a long drive.
Any advice. Will it be worth taking it to main dealer
