I have a 2007 A6 Avant 2.0 Diesel SE. The MMI is red and black only, no white highlights. I have voice guidance and arrow navigation, no maps. I have BT phone connectivity.

What MMI do I have and where can I get a manual?

Can it be upgraded to a map based SatNav?

Thanks.

From your description you have MMI Basic or Basic Plus if you have 10 speakers.

Your best bet would be eBay for the manual.

It can be upgraded to DVD Nav but your spending £1000+ on parts and more on fitting.

You have 2G MMI basic or Basic Plus. If your car has a boot mounted amp and ten speakers, you have Basic Plus. If not, you have Basic. You could update the car to MMI High with DVD navigation by getting a specialist to retrofit the parts, but it would be a big, expensive job.

I thought the difference between Basic & Basic Plus was the Sat Nav (ie Basic didn't have it & Basic Plus did have it). Am I wrong about that then? Will be spending tomorrow counting speakers lol.

Differences below

Mmi basic
5-inch monochrome display (red and black)
optional CD-ROM based satellite navigation (with single country street-level maps)
radio tuner (with RDS Traffic Programme (TP))
single CD player

MMI basic plus - all features of MMI basic, plus:
DSP 10-speaker sound system

ability to store (TIM) RDS Traffic Announcement messages (TA)

Easy way is to look for an amp in the os of the boot panel

I think mine must be a mongrel then lol, because I have 5" monochrome screen, Bose system, CD Rom Navigation etc (all true to what you said above), but I have european navigation options on the disc and I only have basic arrows on the DIS, no actual maps. I also have 6 CD autochanger in the glovebox, not a single player.

I doubt these are optional extras either as the original owner didn't choose any extras, the tight git.
