esp light on

hi guys wondering if u can help, i have a vw golf gt tdi 130 on a 52 plate

all of a sudden the esp light has come on,,, a mate has checked using a computer and it is saying fault code 00778 steering angle sender g85 is it a sensor that needs changing

try resetting first
if battery has gone flat it may create this fault

tried re-setting it but this didnt work
