?regulator?motor

Hi all,

Have a vw golf mk3 1996, and the driverside front window is not working. Just wondering how can you tell whether it is the motor or the regulator.

When I press the button nothing happens but i can hear the click of the switch.

I feel it is going to cost me an arm and a leg for the parts, but I would like to try and fit it myself, how easy is it?

I am just a girlie with a haynes manual :Blush2:so very keen but a little befuddled!
